HauHau (Ho-Ho) is a smart air quality monitor (AQM). It allows user interaction through multiple interfaces i.e. Dashboard, Smartphone Apps, and Smart Home Devices .
The diagram above shows how HauHau works. The sensor unit connects to WiFi network at home or office and sends sensor measurements to a data server which stores the data with a time-stamp. When the users need to view their sensor data they have the option of using our phone app or web login system. Additionally, the sensor can be connected with Amazon Alexa to use our 'skill' for voice based interactive reporting of the current sensor readings.
The indoor air we live in has a great impact on our health. Since we are getting used to spending more time inside houses, classrooms, offices, and other buildings, the risk of getting exposed to bad indoor conditions is ever high. For example, high levels of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) can lead to dizziness and slow work performance. Living in high levels of particulate matter (higher than 150 ug/m3) can lead to asthma, allergies and other respiratory conditions. According to a report by the World Health Organization published in 2016, ambient fine particulate matter (i.e. PM2.5) pollution caused some 3 million premature deaths worldwide, making it one of the most deadliest environmental toxins.
